Frequently asked questions

How do I get started?

Open www.authorsdrop.com or the AuthorsDrop app and create an account. New accounts include a 30-day free trial so you can start writing right away.

I can't sign in or the page looks blank

Make sure you are using www.authorsdrop.com (with the “www”). If sign-in fails, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. If the app still won't load, quit and reopen it, or email us and we'll help you recover your account.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password?, enter your email, and follow the reset link. Reset links expire after 15 minutes for your security.

Billing, trials, and lifetime access

New accounts start with a 30-day free trial, including AuthorsDrop Press for prose export. In the Mac App Store app you can buy Lifetime Access as an In-App Purchase from the billing screen, and restore a previous purchase with Restore Purchases. If a purchase doesn't unlock your account, contact us and we'll sort it out.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, open the profile menu, and choose Delete Account. Confirm your email and password to permanently remove your account and billing data from our servers. You can also email us to request deletion.

Where is my writing stored?

Your manuscripts are stored on your own device, or in a personal cloud folder you choose (such as your own Dropbox) — never on AuthorsDrop servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I import from Word, Scrivener, or Final Draft?

Yes. On My Books click Import, or open Save location → Import from another app. Supported: Word .docx, Final Draft .fdx, and a zipped Scrivener .scriv project (include Files/Docs). In the app, see Help & Guide → Import for step-by-step details.
